 High school clubs to compete for cash and bragging rights in an esports competition

Sports entertainment company A.G.A. Nation (www.aganation.com) today announced that West Catholic High School will serve as host for the LAN tournament, Game On™ Saturday, May 4th.  Competition begins at 11 a.m. Fortnite, with rules and points system, will be the featured game as high school clubs from West Catholic, East Grand Rapids, East Kentwood and Lowell will battle for bragging rights and $200 first place cash prize.

Following the event, the winning club will be recognized as Game On™ spring champion 2019 in a ceremonial check presentation. Second place will receive $100 while each of the winning clubs MVP will receive prizes.

Game On™ event director, and Head Coach of Aquinas Esports, Adam Antor, is excited for not only the local teams competing, but the growing interest in esports locally. “I’m truly amazed at the caliber of talent in West Michigan,” said Antor who also specializes in esports photography. “I expect Game On will only bring greater attention to esports in the area and prove to be an exciting Fortnite competition”.

Part of the event proceeds, provided by A.G.A. Foundation, will benefit local causes as well.  Game On™ is also part of A.G.A. Nation’s High School Assembly Tour offerings, showcasing the following programs:

  • Bring Your ‘A’ Game to School™ a thrilling, school wide assembly featuring professional BMX athletes, performing amazing stunts while inspiring & educating students to bring their ‘A Game’ every day in school & life.  A.G.A.’s signature series also supports FEAT of Southern Nevada whose mission is to provide information on treatment resources for families with children diagnosed with autism, autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • DUNK Distracted Driving™ combines dynamic basketball performers along with an education and informational message in a school wide assembly on the dangers of distracted driving.  Through its 501c3 public charity, A.G.A Foundation supports PlayAllBasketball.Net & PlayAllSports.Net which provides social, educational, athletic and career improvement opportunities for youth and adult sports clubs.
